Trade agreements with Hampshire mean businesses in the county are securing lucrative deals that could be worth millions of pounds.

The bid for realization of the gas pipeline between Onești-Gherăeşti-Leţcani was launched on the Electronic Procurement System. Transgaz’ committed amount is 317, up to almost 411 million lei. The investment is part of the project “Developments of the NTS in the North-East area of Romania in order to improve the gas supply of the area as well as to ensure the transport capacities to the Republic of Moldova”.

Oil and gas major Shell has announced plans for carbon emissions targets linked to remuneration. Shell’s announcement was made at the start of the COP24 climate talks in Katowice, Poland. It reinforces plans outlined in 2017, when the business stated its ambition to cut the “net carbon footprint” of energy products it sells.

Poland’s determination to continue providing financial assistance to coal power plants beyond 2030 has sunk an attempt to reform Europe’s electricity market, negotiators have said. After an all-night session, European Union legislators failed to reach agreement on a proposed reform of the EU electricity market, part of a “clean energy package” of laws presented by the European Commission more than two years ago. The session, which started at 18:30pm on Wednesday (5 December) ended at 06:30 in the morning after without a deal.

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind will supply 100 turbines for a 950-megawatt (MW) offshore wind farm in waters off the northeast coast of Scotland. In an announcement Thursday, the business said that it would supply the facility with its V164-9.5 MW turbines. It has signed a “firm turbine supply order” for the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm, which also includes a 15-year service agreement.

A proposal to limit cross-border electricity flows is one of the last sticking points in the EU’s proposed power market reform, as Berlin pursues a 75% limit on interconnector capacity made available for trading, lawmakers have said. The proposed limit on cross-border electricity trade cropped up as EU legislators ready themselves for a final round of talks on Wednesday (5 December) to reform the European power market.
