Domestic companies increased their gas imports in August by over 16% or 313 GWh compared to July, in particular as a result of resuming gas imports on the Ukrainian route. Most of the gas that entered Romania, over 72%, came from Hungary (1,613 TWh), the firm import capacity from the neighboring state being reserved and used in a 100% ratio, according to profit.ro.

The Czech energy and utilities group CEZ, which is in the process of selling its assets in Romania, reduces by almost half the share capital of two of the companies operating the Dobrogea wind farms from Cogealac and Fântânele, the largest onshore facility of this type in Europe, respectively with the cumulative amount of over 1.8 billion lei, from almost 4 billion lei, to 2.19 billion lei. And the share capital of Distribuție Oltenia, the concession operator of the CEZ profile in Romania, is reduced with over 82 million lei, writes profit.ro.

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, took place in Moscow, reveals a Gazprom release. The parties reviewed issues related to cooperation in the energy sector, including exports of Russian gas to Hungary. It was noted that Gazprom’s supplies to the country over nine and a half months of 2019 totaled 8.9 billion cubic meters of gas, 17 per cent more than in the entire year of 2018.
